About the Craven Team

The team provides a range of services to people that are homeless or are threatened with homelessness. The team offers floating support, furnished accommodation and a range of complementary and preventative services.

Craven Supported Housing Scheme

The Supported Housing Scheme provides support and accommodation to 22 people aged from 16 years upwards.

Craven Mental Health Scheme

The mental health scheme provides a high level of support to people with severe and enduring mental health problems. The scheme provides supported accommodation to twelve people and is staffed by a full time Mental Health Support Worker and a part time Housing Support Worker.

Safer Communities Scheme

The Safer Communities Scheme provides supported accommodation in a shared house to three people who have a history of alcohol or drug misuse and who wish to abstain from drug or alcohol use.

Craven Ex-Offenders scheme

The ex-offenders scheme provides supported accommodation to 6 people over the age of 19 who have had a recent offending history.

North Craven Young People Scheme

The young person’s scheme provides supported accommodation and floating support to 17 people from the age of 16 in the North Craven area. The scheme can support single people and people with children.

Foundation Housing Bond Scheme

The bond scheme prevents homelessness by providing bond guarantees and rent in advance to people on benefit and on low income.

Tenancy Support Scheme

The Tenancy Support Scheme prevents homelessness by supporting tenants of Registered Social Landlords (RSL’s) and the private rented sector. Referrals are taken from various sources. The Tenant Support Worker can offer short term interventions or longer term more involved support.

Connexions PAs

In partnership with Connexions, the Craven team has two part time Personal Advisors based at “The Hub” in Settle and at our office in Skipton. Our PAs provide information and advice on education, employment and training for young people aged 13-19. They work closely with local colleges and employers to ensure young people can progress forward with their goals.

There are opportunities to get involved in the Settle Youth Council and similar participative activities based in Skipton (e.g. customers recently took part in a graffiti workshop for our new computer access point where young people can now find information about jobs and careers).

About Us

Foundation Housing has been leading the development of accommodation and support services for single homeless people and in North and West Yorkshire since 1984..

Foundation Housing benefits from the experience and professionalism of its staff and partner organisations who work together to provide a holistic approach to meeting the needs of homeless people and those at risk of being homeless.

Organisation

Foundation Housing creates opportunities for individuals with support needs to live independently and successfully. We do this by providing a range of quality services specialising in supported accommodation and homelessness prevention.

Apart from meeting the immediate need for ‘a roof over the head’, our aim is to provide the foundation on which customers can build the independence, responsibility and self respect necessary to move forward.
